NY Man Killed in Firefighting Plane Crash in Australia

A Long Island man was killed in a firefighting plane crash in Queensland.

William Jennings, 22, and two others on board were killed when their plane crashed near Mount Isa, SkyNews reported. 

On Saturday afternoon, mine workers from the Eloise Copper Mine reported the crash of the Turbo Commander Aircraft in McKinlay.

A passionate photographer with a mechanical engineering degree from Northeastern, he was operating a camera that scanned the forest from the air and detected hotspots when the plane he was in went down, The Boston Globe reported.
